Report: Alekperov loses $1 bln from Lukoil shares price fall
MOSCOW, May 31 (PRIME) -- Russian businessman Vagit Alekperov has lost U.S. $1 billion this year from the fall of shares of oil major Lukoil, where he has a 23% stake, Bloomberg reported Wednesday.
Lukoil’s shares fell by 18% since the start of the year, Bloomberg said. Aton senior analyst Alexander Kornilov said the strengthening of the ruble has negative impact on revenue of oil and gas companies.
According to Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Alekperov’s fortune is estimated at $11 billion as of Wednesday.
